Moritaka Hamono
Moritaka Hamono is a renowned Japanese knife workshop with a history of over 700 years in blade-making. The workshop was established in 1293 during the Kamakura Period by Kongohyoe Minamoto no Moritaka. The Moritaka family has been producing a wide range of hand-crafted knives and various steel tools for agricultural use. Moritaka Hamono has pioneered hand-forged Warikomi constructions and patented stainless cladded rosewood handle assembly. Today, the 27th generation blacksmith Tsunehiro Moritaka, along with his father, one master craftsman, and one apprentice, make all the knives for the Moritaka brand.
